About the role

PacyNet Technologies Limited is inviting applications for a Volunteer Social Media Manager to support the growth and day-to-day management of our public digital presence. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for someone who understands social platforms, digital communication and audience engagement and wants to gain practical experience contributing to a growing African technology company. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON You may help plan and maintain social media calendars, prepare and schedule posts, write platform-appropriate copy, coordinate visual assets with designers, publish approved company updates, support campaign execution, monitor comments and messages, identify relevant conversations and maintain consistent brand presentation across supported channels. You may also track basic content performance, prepare periodic engagement summaries and help identify which content formats, topics and posting approaches are performing effectively. BRAND AND DISCLOSURE RESPONSIBILITY PacyNet operates a controlled public-disclosure approach. The Social Media Manager will work with approved information and must not independently publish confidential, unreleased, commercially sensitive or technically detailed information about PacyNet products, architecture, internal operations, partners or strategy. Content should communicate outcomes, relevance and public value while remaining consistent with approved company positioning and brand standards. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone with good judgement, strong written communication, attention to detail and a practical understanding of how professional social media accounts should be managed. You should be comfortable using major social platforms and basic scheduling, analytics or content-management tools. Experience managing a personal, institutional, business or community social account is useful but formal qualifications are not mandatory. An understanding of LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X is particularly useful. Familiarity with platforms such as YouTube, TikTok or similar channels is an advantage where relevant to future campaigns. WHO THIS MAY SUIT This opportunity may suit communications, marketing, media, journalism, public relations or business students; emerging social media managers; digital marketers; content creators; or individuals seeking practical experience managing professional technology communications.
